Consultation Responses

In order to keep at the forefront of social policy about older people, age and ageing, Age Concern and Help the Aged in Scotland consults and engages with older people on a variety of topics.

Age Concern and Help the Aged in Scotland also responds to many consultations issued by the Scottish and Westminster Governments.

Most Recent Responses

The UK Government is currently working to introduce a new Equality Bill that will offer protection against age discrimination in goods, facilities and services for the first time. Part of the Bill would see the introduction of new public sector equality duties and the Scottish Government has the power to decide how these duties should be implemented, which public bodies they should apply to as well as what the requirements on those public bodies will be. To help develop their approach the Scottish Government consulted on the specific equality duties and our response is available here:
