Trusts and Foundations
Age Scotland depends on the support of many Trusts and Foundations to carry out its important work across Scotland.
Trusts support work such as:
- Our Logs Project in Dumfries and Galloway, which supplies logs and kindling to isolated older people living in rural areas througout the winter.
- Community Work in the Highlands, where our community workers support local older people's groups as they provide services such as lunch clubs, health projects and day care services to older people.
- Our Handyperson Services in Glasgow and North Lanarkshire, which carry out small tasks in older people's homes like hanging winter curtains, putting in draft-proofing or moving heavy furniture.
Trusts and Foundations can choose whether to support specific pieces of work like the above, or to support our overall work, like campaigning on behalf of older people and striving to improve their lives by highlighting issues such as low pensions, community care and housing problems.
